Paradox Blast

A Paradox Blast (逆説爆発, gyakusetsu bakuhatsu) is a phenomenon in Innocence Seekers and Yume ni Aruku which occurs when two directly opposing states or powers which can neither be dispelled nor defeated (such as Inherent Abilities) come into conflict with each other. Because neither of the states or powers can be dispelled, defeated or otherwise removed, the universe itself is forced to resolve it by altering reality. This inevitably results in a massive burst of energy as the universe adjusts itself.

Properties

A Paradox Blast always manifests itself as a massive explosion of energy. In the few times it has been observed, it has been deduced that the magical energy released from such a phenomenon is void-elemental. In addition, the blast ignores any magical barriers it encounters and is not dissipated by physical matter (which it almost inevitably destroys); its power only decreases with distance from the centre of the blast.
