Now that I’ve completed the first chapter of Innocence Seekers: April Light, I’ve decided to write up another general post. It will talk about the same things the other three general posts talked about.
Innocence Seekers
For Innocence Seekers: April Light, I have made some plans regarding the second chapter. It will primarily be set on Earth, as the current goal of the main characters will be searching for Earth’s World Orbs. At the moment, I have yet to decide whether the Donsilans will reappear again in this chapter; however, I will mention that the World Orbs themselves have their own defence systems. Right now, I’ve only explicitly mentioned the location of the fire-elemental World Orb; I haven’t decided on the exact locations of the other World Orbs, although the earth-elemental World Orb will be in the middle of nowhere.
I initially took a break from the Cave of Illusions project to work on finishing the first chapter of April Light. However, now that I’ve finished, I will restart development of the game. On a related note, I may post episodes of Mimori Flower Club in the future, and give a preview of the story of Akari of the Light.
Side projects
Unfortunately, I don’t have any new information on my side projects. However, I plan to give previews of both Yume ni Aruku and From the Scattered Petals, to the Blooming Flower later.
For Chronicles of the Horunian War, I have written half of the first chapter of the first story. I won’t tell you too much about it, but it details the story of one of the Horunian wanderers as she takes part in events which could determine the fate of the planet she’s in. Crucial to the fate of this world is a girl who died ten years ago, but who is supposed to save the world, and whom the main characters are trying to resurrect.
Anime and manga
Nearly a month into the season, and it’s time for me to detail some of the anime I’m watching. However, before that, I need to do a mini-review of Girlish Number, as I said I would earlier. My rating for this anime is S-; overall, I enjoyed this anime. It goes into the voice acting and anime industries, and it pulls no punches when it comes to stating the harsh facts of these industries; one thing I noted was that Chitose’s “fans” had, initially, been enthusiastic about her, but later, they were only keeping appearances and were intending to jump ship (to Nanami), which reflects the real-life tendency for fans of idols and voice actors to only follow the newest and youngest, making it more difficult for older idols and voice actors to get a following. There is also the fact that the anime the girls are performing in is, to be frank, horrible, and the studio is in the red. In my opinion, it mixes comedy and drama quite well, and the personalities of all of the characters go well with each other. Although, in my opinion, it is not as good as Shirobako (although that has probably more to do with the length of the anime, given 12 vs. 24 episodes; it’s a tough ask for a 10-14 episode anime to get an S or higher from me), I highly recommend it.
Anyway, back to this season. Right now, I’m watching three anime this season, all with supernatural elements. The first is Gabriel Dropout, which follows an angel who is supposed to bring happiness to the world after spending some time there, but ends up becoming lazy and addicted to video games. The second is Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, which follows a woman who suddenly gets a dragon (who can transform into a girl, albeit with horns and a tail) as a maid. The third anime I’m watching is Urara Meirochō, which is based on fortunetelling. So far, I’m enjoying each of these anime. I had considered watching other anime, but it’s likely that any additional anime from this season I will watch will go onto my backlog.
For later seasons… well, I haven’t decided yet. For Spring 2017, there is Sakura Quest, and I’m not sure which other anime I’ll watch.
In other news, Afro’s Yurucamp, serialised in Manga Time Kirara Forward, will be getting an anime. You might know Afro more for being the author of Puella Magi Homura Tamura, though.
P.S. Happy birthday to Ayane Sakura, who is now 23.
