Akari is the main character of Innocence Seekers: Akari of the Light, and the character after whom the title is named. She is a native of the Kingdom of Namari, a nation located on another world which is linked to Japan. She possesses a bright and optimistic personality, and is willing to help others. However, she is known for rushing into dangerous situations without any regard for her own well-being.
Akari is the only daughter of Akane Kuritani, a woman who, 17 years before the start of the story, helped save the galaxy from a being named Gakran. As an Innocent, or magical girl, Akari possesses powers few people possess, including magic powers far beyond what most people are capable of. However, because of this, she will be thrust into dangerous battles from a very young age, as no Innocent keeps their unique powers for very long. Despite this, Akari always looks on the brighter side, and is motivated by her desire to break out of her mother’s shadow and be defined by her actions alone.
Akari’s friends include the quiet and reserved Michiru Kurosawa, the outgoing Yayoi Miyana, and the intelligent Hiyori Kigawa. Like Akari, they are Innocents, and they help Akari in her battles.
Like all Innocents, Akari possesses an Inherent Ability. Her Inherent Ability is Eternal Stream, which grants her the ability to move and act even when time is stopped (provided that the source of the time stop is within four kilometres). In gameplay, this will manifest as the ability to move and act whenever time is stopped by an effect that would otherwise affect all units, as well as being immune to the Time Stop status effect.
